Fuzzy Easter Eggs

These warm and fuzzy Easter eggs get me so excited for Easter!  They are perfect for an "egg-stra"  special gift from the Easter Bunny.  :)  I did some product testing this weekend and made some for my nephews and they gave them two thumbs up.
My inspiration came while shopping at Tai Pan Trading (such a fun store!)  but those eggs were glued shut.  Here's how I did it so you can fill the egg up with a prize.

Materials:
plastic Easter eggs
chenille pipe cleaners
hot glue and glue gun
scissors/wire cutters

Step 1: Put a thin strip of glue right under the lip of the bottom egg.  Make sure the egg shuts and the pipe cleaner doesn't get caught in the top part of the egg.
Step 2: Cut the pipe cleaner with a bit extra so you can fold the pipe cleaner over.  This helps keep the wire from poking little fingers.
Repeat until the bottom is done.  Then work from the bottom up to complete the top.  Make sure the glue doesn't leak and glue the top and bottom together or it won't open.

Step 3:  Get creative and add some designs.  I used needle nose pliers to make polka dots.
Here's the finished product!
Here are some more examples!  They would be super cute in a wreath, displayed in a basket, or filled with an Easter treat.
(If you give them to little kiddos, make sure you warn them of the pokey wire.)

Have fun making these, giving them away, and making the world a cuter place!
